Irvington, VA (PRWEB) March 12, 2012

The Tambellini Group (TTG), the world’s leading research and advisory firm for higher education executives, announces the availability of its annual research report: “2012 Student Information Systems: U.S. Higher Education Market Share, Insights and Trends.” Student Information Systems (SIS) includes capabilities for enrollment, admissions, student billing, registration, grades, transcripts, academic advising and student services.

The report updates TTG’s 2010 Student Information Systems U.S. Higher Education Market Share, Trends and Leaders report published February 2011. The focus of this report is the 2010 and 2011 U.S. SIS landscape, market share and trends, emerging technologies and a review of the top vendors providing SIS solutions. The SIS data points analyzed in this report are derived from the TTG Education Institution Technology Profile DatabaseTM, which is the worlds most comprehensive catalog of education technology selections made by institutions worldwide.

The Education Institution Technology Profile DatabaseTM contains SIS records for more than 4,700 U.S. higher education institutions, which includes both accredited and non-accredited schools. The total size of the Education Institution Technology Profile DatabaseTM exceeds 13,000 global institutions and additional categories such as most recent systems selected for human resources, financial systems, learning management systems, advancement/alumni systems, student/faculty/staff email, library systems and more.

Critical findings in this report depict changes in the 2011 vendor landscape, which was quite different from that of 2010. Jenzabar amassed 26% of the identified SIS procurements in 2011, making them the leading vendor. Of the new SIS procurements in 2011, 69% occurred in institutions with enrollments of less than 2,500 students. Jenzabar was followed by Three Rivers Systems and RJM Systems.

Datatel was the leading vendor in 2011 in institutions that procured a new SIS with enrollments between 2,500 and 5,000 students. SunGard Higher Education maintained their lead in institutions that selected a new SIS with enrollments between 5,000 and 9,999 students. Oracle PeopleSoft garnered the majority of the institutions that selected a new SIS with enrollments between 10,000 and 19,999 students and of the institutions with enrollments of over 20,000 students.

When considering all SIS procurements regardless the year the selection was made, SunGard Higher Education is the overall market share leader.

The body of the report delves further into the research, shedding light on new product offerings and add-on solutions that have contributed to higher education institutions’ SIS selections of each vendor.

The 50 page report is available by contacting becky.rose(at)thetambellinigroup(dot)com or by calling (804) 438-9393. Single user copies of the report are $ 1,795.
